Luksic and Mank laid the cornerstone for a luxury hotel

Prime Minister Igor Luksic and Canadian businessman Peter Munk have set the cornerstone for building a five star hotel, yacht club and spa center at the Tivat marina Porto Montenegro.

It is planned to expand the capacity of the marina from 185 to 380 bearths , and the Adriatic Shipyard (Bijela) will build a center for repair and maintenance of yachts.

The value of all investments is planned at 100 million .

Luksic said that everything that is done in Tivat and recent construction of the golf course will make this city a spectaculare place, not only in Montenegro, but in this part of Europe.

According to him, very important are indirect effects - Employment of construcion workers , employment opportunities on yachts, increased demand for agricultural products.

Luxury five star hotel, which will build the Asian Regent Hotels and Resorts, will have 100 rooms, residences, a swimming pool in the courtyard, spa and fitness center, restaurant, banquet space.

Munk praised the government of Montenegro, the mayor and citizens of Tivat who, he said, always willing to help to attract foreign tourists to their city.

"Personal efforts of the mayor, the local community and the Government itself are the reason we are here, not in Albania, Greece or Croatia," said Munk.

Noting that in this time of global economic crisis doubles investment in Porto Montenegro and that this second phase will not be the last, a Canadian businessman pointed out that currently in the world are rare such a valuable investments .

Chairman of Regent Hotels & Resorts, Ralf Ohletz, presented the company that will build the hotel and that Regent hotels in the past year have bin chosen for the best luxuriance hotels in the world.

Mayor of Tivat Miodrag Kankaras said that with this investments, Tivat gets what he lacked a high-class-hotel .

He recalled that the local parliament  adopted a decision to stimulate investors to build luxury hotels in the city and that the price of utility charges for such investments fell 80 percent.

In Petrovac a new 5-star hotel .


Reconstruction of the City Hotel-Sveti Stefan will be completed in March, announced today the Minister of Tourism and Sustainable Development, Predrag Sekulic.



Sekulic told reporters in Petrovac, after meeting with representatives of  Budva tourism industry, that work on City-hotel began in October, and that the investor have received a building permit.

I appreciate that there is any reason that the works are not completed within the stipulated time, so in March we will have a completely reconstructed Sveti Stefan," he said.
Sekulic believes that this year will be successful, both in terms of investor interest, as well as in terms of tourist season.

5-star hotel in Petrovac
Sekulic is for this year announced the start of construction of five-star hotel in the area of the former Hotel Oliva in Petrovac.


As an investor, Miso Perovic, owner of Euro Mis Trade within which operates a hotel Rivijera in Petrovac , said that building a new five strar hotel arranged in cooperation with the hotel group of Budva Riviera.
By the end of January will get a building permit, when the construction will begin , said Perovic, and stressed that the new hotel will meet all international standards.

He explained that the hotel will have 250 units and that total investment will amount to 30 million euro .
Perovic is expecting that the hotel will be operational by 2013. year.


Another golf course in Montenegro


Building a golf course on the hill Spas above Budva will start with establishing of a joint venture company, Budva Holding with Belgian Reb.


The main partner of the municipal enterprise Budva Holding, as stated in the contract of the joint venture will be a Belgian company Reb, registered in Kotor, owned by businessman and Honorary Consul of Belgium in Montenegro, Jean-Luc Dumortje.

Decision on approval to the selection of strategic partners to establish the company was adopted at the last session of the Assembly of the Municipality of Budva, which marked the beginning of the realization of the construction.

The project will be implemented on an area of ​​almost 496 000 square meters, in addition to exclusive golf courses with 18 holes, will be built with hotels, villas and apartments, as well as other facilities.

President of the Municipality of Budva, Lazar Radjenovic told the agency Mina-business that it is a very significant project.

"The project will, when completed, make Budva and Budva Riviera distinctive tourist destination in the world," said Radjenovic.

By 2021. contribution of tourism to almost 2 billion

Vice-President of WTTC said that including the indirect economic effects, the contribution of tourism in Montenegro with the current 593, 8 million euros until 2021 to reach an amount of 1.915 billion euros, or from the current 17.2 up to 36.3 per cent share in the total gross domestic product, a number of workers in the tourism of Montenegro from the current 12 000, for ten years will grow to a total of 62 000.

Montenegro should , as Baumgarten said , specifically address the improvement of infrastructure, in order to comply with the tourism growth.

This will help Montenegro to remain one of the fastest growing economies in the field of travel and tourism in the world, said Baumgarten.

First golf course in Montenegro will be build .

According to information "Vijesti", LPGD would realize project in consortium with partners and the commission will determine whether the offer includes an agreement on the consortium who will build the golf course.


LPGD company from Podgorica , founded by the Dutch Limon, provided a better financial offer for the construction of golf courses in Tivat from a wealthy Canadian Peter Munk.

LPGD announced a 11.3 million euro for the total period of  90 year lease for Tivat Montepranca land and nine-year investment program of up to 181.6 million euros. They offered 16 cents per square meter yearly rental fee of land, for total of 786.6 thousand square meters.

Tivat company divelopment PM Golf, founded by  Adriatic Marinas, is ready to pay a total of 10.6 million euros, or annually 15 cents rental fee  for every square meter of land. The tender is required to supply at least as much. PM Golf announces five-year capital investment of ten million .

Tender Commission for Tourism, who opened the tender, within the next 15 days to evaluate their validity and will be ranked. Hiking & Biking in Montenegro


Montenegro is the winner of the 25th Jubilee award, international environmental award by the German association of tour operators and travel agencies (DRV), which took place within 61st annual congress of this association. The awarded project which is the focus of environmental protection and social responsibility "Wilderness Hiking & Biking in Montenegro" .



Nominated project "Wilderness Hiking & Biking» Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro developed the concept of tourism development that is sustainable for both nature and society. Starting from the Master Plan for Tourism and Tourism Development Strategy to 2020 , hiking trails, historic trade routes and mountain trails have become part of a national network of mountain trails, a distance of 6,000 kilometers, which are designed for nature lovers. We are working intensely on the design of these trails and prepare guides and other promotional materials which present outstanding natural beauty through which routes pass. 50 million euro investment in Ulcinj hotel

It is planned that in December, possibly in January, we obtain the necessary permission to start work, which according to the established schedule may follow in the spring. At the same time will work out on a capital project, whose finalization is expected in April, so we have all the necessary documentation before the season, Durutovic said in an interview for “Vijesti” adding that the rough work on the hotel could be finished a year and a half since the adoption of a complete planning documents.

Four major infrastructural project in Ulcinj


Deputy Prime Minister Vujica Lazović announced that before the start of next season will be completed  four major infrastructural projects in Ulcinj, according to TV news Antena M.



After a working visit to the municipality, Lazovic said he hope that the Government, together with local government, to create conditions that Ulcinj become the pearl of Montenegrin tourism.

The fact that prior to the start of next season will be completed  four major infrastructural projects: the bridge will be open at the Milena canal , regional water supply will come to Ulcinj, will begin to operate a regional garbage dump and we will succeed to finish some 6.2 kilometers of road reconstruction from Ostros to Sukobin said Lazović.

New mayor of the Municipality of Ulcinj Nazif Cungu announced that the local government sent to the competent ministry 15 planning documents, which would be adopting to start real development of Ulcinj.



We talked about the zoning of land which, unfortunately, were in the drawers in the Municipality of Ulcinj, and now we have opened and submitted to the competent ministry. Businessmen from UAE arrive in Podgorica

Hilton will take over Blue Horizon hotel in Tivat


Blue Horizon Hotel complex which was previously managed from the government comapny in Tivat , was taken over from Arab investment group, Qatari Diar.

The new owner, as learn from TV news, is planning to demolish the existing , and in its place build a new five star hotel.
Complete investment will cost 200 million euros, a new complex should have about 170 apartments in the villas, with supporting sport , recreation and entertainment .
Arabs are planning to make it resort of high category .
The hotel complex Blue Horizon was founded 40 years ago, and this year has achieved 60 000 of night rentals .
Arab group paid 24 million for the complex of 250 000 square meters in the bay Pržno, with the beach of several hundred meters , pine and olive trees in the background.
New owners Qatari Diar have not wanted to reveal the plans , and  the public will know about it  when procedures for spatial planning documents are finished .
Mayor of Tivat, Miodrag Kankaraš announced that these documents will soon be adopted, after which it will begin demolition and construction of new hotel, which is estimated to be finished by 2014th .

Tui Travel, back to Montenegro
